Admob is a mobile advertising company I’ve been using for the last six months. It is the Adsense of mobile internet. Admob typically only approves publishers that have a mobile-compatible website (like this for example). Admob was recently acquired by Google. The FTC is now asking for more details on the acquisition, as Google is starting to become more and more suspicious of monopolizing the mobile advertising industry.

I thought that I might share with the world the online SEO tools that I use. Keep in mind that I use these A LOT. I use them A LOT because they’re USEFUL. They make me MONEY in other words.

Keyword Research

I use Google’s Adword’s keyword volume tool to look to see if a keyword is even worth targeting in the search engines.

Backlink Analyzer

I use this tool every so often when I want to see how many backlinks my site is getting. Occasionally I’ll use it to spy on a few of my competitors – but don’t tell any one that .

Page Rank Checker

Okay, page rank has NOTHING to do with how well your website performs in the search engines. Are you sure Kyle? Yes, I’m sure. I’ve experienced a complete page rank stripping (from PR4 to PR0) overnight, and my website’s search engine result pages (SERPs) continued to go UP! Page rank is simply Google’s attempt at giving a website a “rating”. I do use it occasionally because advertisers consider page rank when buying links from you.

Google Analytics

Are you not running Google Analytics or some other kind of website statistic harvester? The information I get from my Analytics reports dictates to me about 75% of the work I do. It’s free and awesome.

SEO Analyzer

This tool tells you the top 5 keywords you’re getting traffic from, as well as a wide array of other useful information about your web presence.

Again, these aren’t just any SEO tools. These come from my own, personal collection of bookmarks that I visit frequently. Consider them very resourceful for you and website(s). Hope this helps!

Lyrics:
Your site design is the first thing people see
it should be reflective of you and the industry

easy to look at with a nice navigation
when you can’t find what you want it causes frustration

a clear Call to action to increase the temptation
use appealing graphics they create motivation

if you have animation
use with moderation

cause search engines can’t index the information
display the logos of all your associations

highlight your contact info that’s an obligation
create a clean design you can use some decoration

but to try to prevent any client hesitation
every page that they click should provide and explanation

should be easy to understand like having a conversation
when you design the style go ahead and use your imagination

but make sure you use correct color combinations
do some investigation, look at other organizations

but don’t duplicate or you might face a litigation
design done, congratulations but it’s time to start construction
follow these instructions when you move into production
your photoshop functions then slice that design
do your layout with divs make sure that it’s aligned
please don’t use tables even though they work fine
when it come to indexing they give searches a hard time
make it easy for the spiders to crawl what you provide
remove font type, font color and font size
no background colors, keep your coding real neat,
tag your look and feel on a separate style sheet
better results with xml and css
now you making progress, a lil closer to success
describe your doctype so the browser can relate
make sure you do it great or it won’t validate
check in all browsers, I do it directly
gotta make sure that it renders correctly
some use IE, some others use Flock
some use AOL, I use Firefox
title everything including links and images
don’t use italics, use emphasis
don’t use bold, please use strong
if you use bold that’s old and wrong
when you use CSS, you page will load quicker
client satisfied like they eating on a snicker
they stuck on your page like you made it with a sticker
and then they convert now that’s the real kicker
make you a lil richer, your site a lil slicker
design and code right man I hope you get the picture
what I’m telling you is true man it should be a scripture
if it’s built right you’ll be the pick of the litter
everyone will want to follow you like twitter
competition will get bitter and you’ll shine like glitter
if you trying to grow your company will get bigger
design and code right man can you get with it

So I recently ordered “God’s Chosen Fast” from an Amazon.com seller. The book was processed, shipped, and at my door in 3 days. The package was hand-written on by the seller’s telling me “Your Amazon.com marketplace order”. This was cool because they saved me the time of wondering what it is (I can even forget I’ve ordered things sometimes). So immediately I have this amazing first impression of an online company; they’re quick too.

I open the package and in it is my book. of course, along with the invoice with a personal “thank you” message. This was also hand written.

Then I thought how this could be such a small little advantage this company has over the trillions of other online bookstores.

What I learned from this is that not only are customers important, they’re very important. Know what I mean? Being “treated right” as a customer is our standard today. We expect it. So, by finding ways to treat your customer EXTRA special, you can have a huge increase in popularity, while also building a database of loyal customers that will come back in the future.

Jeremy Schoemaker knows what I’m talking about.
Just a tip – take it or leave it.

One of the main reasons why I love the internet so much is how I can instantaneously pull a video for free and let it crack you up. Here’s one of my favorite videos. FYI, there’s language and sexuality in this video (so you know it’s good):

In order to make this post qualify for the subject of this blog (SEO/SEM marketing), I should mention that funny videos are great link bait for your website. Link bait refers to content that most web publishers or bloggers would want to link to you. Everybody loves to laugh, which is why CollegeHumor.com has such high link authority, page rank, and rank highly for most competitive keyword terms. I’m not talking about simply embedding funny videos into your website, but making your own. It takes time, but it has a high success rate.

This is one of my first SEO mistakes that made a few years back, and its effects were nothing but detrimental (that means bad). If you have more than one website hosted on the same server and link to each one of those websites from each one of your websites, Google will pull a red flag up after seeing that each outbound link originates from the same server IP. You might say that if you assign a different IP to each account (assuming you have a reseller account), you’ll be in the clear. Google looks at the C-Block of your server IP. So if your reseller account has the IP address of 205.10.123.01, your C-Block is 123. These numbers cannot be individually assigned to your different sites on the server. Thus, impossible to avoid this penalty that Google scouts for.

So, what to do? Well, don’t do it . Get each one of your site’s hosted on a completely unique server. I personally love using BlueHost‘s shared accounts rather than operating my own Dedicated or VPS server. This way, you’re able to link to your other websites without holding a potential threat to your sites. You also don’t have the hassle of running and maintaining your own server.

Do they have a preference?”.

The answer: NO!

Why? If you think that Google or any other search engine would value a site higher simply because of the domain’s extension, then you need rethink how the internet works and what search engines like Google are suppose to do.

Google has a job, and that job is to provide its searchers the most relative and appropriate results for a certain keyword phrase. If your site has more quality content than all the other sites competing with you, you will naturally and organically rank higher than them (assuming no one is doing anything to screw the results).

Your domain’s extension has absolutely no relevance to its keyword position. As long as your site provides quality content exceeding all other site’s competing with you, your link building will take care of itself and your keyword rankings will climb higher and higher as your site builds more authority.
