CBS to Acquire CNET for $1.8 Billion
“The core businesses of CNET Networks and CBS Interactive represent near perfect category symmetry in premium online content,”
Quincy Smith, President, CBS Interactive.
Blah blah blah… it’s another corporate buyout. This acquisition will make CBS one of the top 10 internet companies in the United States with a combined 54 million unique users per month (my sites get about 100,000), and approximately 200 million users worldwide.

Windows Live Writer Blob Tutorial and How To I have to admit that Windows Live Writer is not too shabby at all. It’s super easy. [...]

Admob is a mobile advertising company I’ve been using for the last six months. It is the Adsense of mobile internet. Admob typically only approves publishers that have a mobile-compatible website (like this for example). Admob was recently acquired by Google. The FTC is now asking for more details on the acquisition, as Google is [...]

OpenTable.com is one of my favorite websites today because you can book almost any Chicagoland restaurant in about one minute. Additionally, you can read hundreds of real reviews about a restaurant before you decide to dine there. I recently took my girlfriend out to a very nice restaurant called Catch 35, in Naperville, Illinois – [...]

For those in the metropolitan area of Chicago, you probrably have riden the Metra Rail system at some time in your life. Well, you would imagine that could buy your tickets online and print them from home right? Nope. Well, not until today at least. Metra surprised the media yesterday by announcing their new $3 [...]
Kyle Loves Google Voice
I’m really impressed with Google’s new product, Google Voice. Originally a company called Grand Central created the online tool in 2005. Google then purchased the company in 2007 and is now relaunching it with many, many improvements. Basically, Google Voice creates an “online phone number” that can be tied to as many phone numbers that [...]

It’s not like me to dedicate an entire post for the sole purpose of complaining. Wait, yes it is. The reason I’m taking time out of my life to flame Linkshare is because of their complete disregard for the quality of their system in its entirety. It’s a mouthful, but I can write something negative [...]

On Saturday May 3rd, Yahoo received another counter bid for the acquisition of Yahoo by Microsoft. Yahoo declined their offer (again)… At the meeting, which also included Yahoo’s other founder, David Filo, and a Microsoft president who oversees its online unit, Kevin Johnson, Mr. Ballmer increased Microsoft’s offer to $33 a share, or a total [...]

So I recently ordered “God’s Chosen Fast” from an Amazon.com seller. The book was processed, shipped, and at my door in 3 days. The package was hand-written on by the seller’s telling me “Your Amazon.com marketplace order”. This was cool because they saved me the time of wondering what it is (I can even forget [...]

Ok, this has always me for some time. I realized that in order to have a successful marketing blog, I’ll have to show that what I suggest and post about actually works. I want to be seen as a proven, reliable source for marketing information. I feel like this can be shown through revenue generated. [...]
