Blogrush Sucks
The idea isn’t half bad, but the Blogrush platform blows.
So I signed up and entered my blog details (url, feed url, description, etc). When I hit submit, it gave me a parse error. I emailed John Reese, the creator, and got no reply.
Once Blogrush entered what they called “Phase 2″, I was able to successfully submit my blog for review. Hooray!
24 hours later I got an email saying my blog was accepted. Cool. And the blogrush widget was already displaying content on my site. I go to sign in to my blogrush account, only to get a message telling me that I can’t access my account because my blog is still in review. Wait, what was that email then?
I understand that Blogrush is a start up site/company, but that’s a pretty crappy start up. A crappy web platform on top of crappy service. I’m not alone.

So then why the hell do you still have the widget on your site you moron ? I can guarantee you Google will be de-indexing Blogrush.com in the near future.
Matt,
Thanks for the smack in the head. I guess removing the widget would be a great follow up.

Wow… is this the real Google Matt Cutts, Kyle?
If so, is he saying that Google will ban those with the BlogRush widget? That’s huge news that John Reece will never tell us about.
By the way, you might be interested to know I found your blog entry here on my new “BlogRush” mashup… opinions from all around the Internet about whether or not BlogRush is worth installing on your blog. I programmed it to update on a minute-by-minute basis.
The opinions on my mashup might surprise you.

Besides that, I found that the articles they posted to my site were unrelated to the theme of my site, so it seemed like spam to my readers.
It would also be nice if we could customize the blogrush widget to the colors and theme of our page.
Maybe blogrush works on tech blogs, but until some things change, I’ve removed blogrush from my site.
You should try Arkayne, its everything BlogRush is not. Fully customized and always links relevant content. As a ametter of fact its based on relevancy not traffic so your users always get the best links.
It tends to link mainly within your own site, which I think is good, every once in a while it will throw in an external link. If you go to the “Powered By Arkayne” link then you get a full list of sites linking not just the 5 that are dsiplayed on your page.

I’m dropping my blogrush.
I see nothing good other than it is pretty.
The phase 2 is nothing too.
I have had 3 clicks from blogrush out of 1600 visits to my site in October. Where is the Rush?
You have a great blog here. Keep it up.
