Funny Gap Commercial

Gap (clothing store) pumps a lot of money into viral marketing. The video below was made to spark an interest into Gap and non-Gap shoppers. The point of the video is to leave you in suspense. Suspense is the real marketing tool here. The video uses obvious humor to capture your attention, and at the end the title reads ‘Pardon our dust, a new Gap is coming’. A prime example on how to kick start a buzz-marketing campaign. Enjoy.

By the way, I found this video at VirtualMarketingBlog.com – one of my favorite marketing blogs. The two authors of the blog post funny marketing-related videos, usually from youtube every Friday. Check em out. (not an advertisement).

Should Webmasters Strut Their Online Revenue?

Ok, this has always me for some time. I realized that in order to have a successful marketing blog, I’ll have to show that what I suggest and post about actually works.  I want to be seen as a proven, reliable source for marketing information. I feel like this can be shown through revenue generated. However, I feel somewhat uncomfortable telling people how much I make online. Should I be? Do you think it’s appropriate for webmasters to “strut” their online revenue? And why? If I get a good number of votes, I’ll release how much I actually make online – I’m pretty sure it will catch a few eyes considering I’m only 19 years old.
